swine flu ALERT!

Put on those mask! Wash your hands frequently! Swine flu is now sweeping across the country and is currently at Level 4, almost to Level 5 as WHO states. It is moving towards Level 6 in being pandemic...ahhhh...look at the map! (move it around to see other places here in America.)

It looks scary to know how many cases there are in the US itself. What's more is that i am traveling and those areas are affected....please pray for my safety.....

spring cleaning in spring

Presenting my new apartment!

hehe..NO! that's not what it looks like..although I do wish it would, look at the skyline! Oo..and the grand piano...i want one! hahaha...

Ok, back to reality..I spent my entire Saturday cleaning my "new" apartment, trying to get everything sparkly clean before my official big move in day. 7 hours non-stop cleaning wasn't all too fun. I washed, scrubbed, vacuumed, mop and wiped every corner you can think of in the apartment (yes, mummy, including the walls..they are all clean!) Before I realize, time flew and my friend came back to give me a ride back to campus..but I wasn't ready! you can imagine how obssess I was with the cleaning process..lol...so now my apartment is clean and my back hurts from the 7hours process..*sigh* (why do I have to keep injuring myself?)

So, now I spent most of my study time here at the apartment where it's quiet and away from all possible distraction..if you're thinking "blogging and chatting are distractions!", no! these are my necessary conditions in order for me to focus on my study. Internet is a must! haha...so, back to my studying..just one more week and all these will be over....i can't wait for it to be over! =)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!
Easter is not about bunny and eggs and chocolates..
Although chocolates and bunnies would be cute...but,
It has a beautiful and priceless memory to me.

It is the day our Lord Jesus rose from the death.
It is the day our Lord Jesus conquered death.
It is the day we get out second chance to get closer to God.
It reminds us of the things He had gone through for us to be able to come to God.
He made it possible for us to live our lives with Him.
He made it possible for us to go through life, knowing He is there to look after us.
He made it possible for us to know God!
He made my life possible.
He made me possible to go through life, knowing He will always be there for me...
no matter how many mistakes I make..
no matter what my mood is...
no matter how I look or am judged by others..
He is ALWAYS there for me...
and I truly, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you, Lord!
for making me who I am today..
for your unconditional love and grace...
So, rejoice! for the Lord is risen..

ISO Banquet

I attended the ISO Banquet again this year, even though I was sick..well, I needed dinner and I really wanted to watch the performances..haha..so I packed my medicine in my bag and toughen up and walked to the banquet. ISO Banquet was fun this year, in most aspects, except for food and one tiny problem. Food was..erm...not-so-good..hehe..but performances were really good. Then, it got to one performance which was suppose to be Indian/Pakistan Dance 2. It uses a paskitani song I think but the dance moves were just so obsene. It was ridiculous. Every move were OBVIOUSLY sexually related..I was just awkward because ISCA was denied our performance as we were a christian group. They said they wanted it to be neutral so that it can be enjoyed by everyone. I respected that. And so ISCA did not perform, but attend. However, when I saw that performance, I got pretty upset. It was abviously not neutral or enjoyable by everyone (not unless you want your kids to see those moves at ages 4-6).. I guess it wasn't neutral that was important. It was what actually appealed to the audience. I realized that anything sexual or violent is shockingly welcome by the people here but not religion. Yes, those two are acceptable in this society but yet religion is sensitive. *sigh* I thought being in the States was different...what happened to freedom of speech? freedom of religion? I guess it depends on the situation huh? I never cease to learn new things everyday...is it a good thing or bad thing? hmmm..makes me wonder what's next to learn...

Row Week

What comes in mind when I say "Row Week"?

Row, Row, Row your boat,
Gently down the stream,
merrily merrily, gently down the stream...

No, we're not rowing boats this week..hehe..

Row Week may be the best week for frats and sororities or maybe anyone who wants to get drunk and party..but not for someone who needs the precious good night sleep, like me..So, I went to bed at midnight but laid in bed till almost 3am before falling asleep, for the entire week...sigh..i hate row week! I have so many papers to finish writing and without my sleep, i get extremely cranky! and snappy..haha...and not to mention, i lost my voice because of lack of sleep and snappiness... =p ..just another day and row week will be over (i hope).. =p

Ok, I'm tired and I think I need to stop my snappiness soon..and be cheerful again..lalalala..and hopefully no more bruises and cuts for the week...*sigh..sherrie needs to be a tad more careful..*
