a not so fun spring break

So, my plan for Spring Break did not work out, again!
It hasn't really worked out as planned for the past 2 years either.
No, I was not procrastinating this time, but Ms. Gastric decided to pay me a visit.
Not sure what I ate that actually caused the gastric but it was so bad that I was in bed for the past 3 days. *sigh* Can't go to work and left at home alone all day is boring!
I can't even study or concentrate in that matter, but I did get my hws done!
Now that I'm regaining my strength, I have so much to catch up and do before my break is over..
even though I'm still resting at home, bored..haha..but this is definitely better than laying in bed all day, thinking of the things I should be doing...

Oh, we had 8 inches of snow the first few days of Spring Break! hehe..I was so happy to see snow again! I love snow! It's cold, but it's so white that the earth actually look so clean and beautiful. And, I went sledding too! Bought a sled for $5 at Walmart, got my friend to make a path to sled downhill at the poultry science lawn, the side with less crazy people (I couldn't move the sled because apparently, you need weight to compress the snow initially), and a path to walk back uphill without falling! It was so much fun, even though most times I fell or tumble downhill instead because my sled just flew away from me and went the other direction..lol..but I had so much fun! I'll post the video soon!

Malaysian Night is this Saturday, people! I'm excited! Hopefully I would have recovered by then to enjoy the event. =)

It's Spring Break!!! *big smile*
Finally, a week of break from classes.
But, I'll still be working, studying, looking for new place to move and a car!

Hang out with my friends as much as possible!
So, Uri, drive through on Monday? Hoghaus this week?
Dickson st anyone?
Movies? Shopping?
Call me! hahaha

My sister is off to Branson, Missouri for shopping spree..
*sigh*
That's what you get for having a rich boyfriend, I guess..
Well, simple things in life is still the best, although money would do great!
Anyway, I'm going to enjoy this week, regardless if i can get a shopping spree..

Addiction? Maybe not?

Cups of Coffee, couple dozes of caffeine, few spoonful of sugar...
My daily doses of caffeine and sugar to keep me up and going..
But today, I had 2 cups of coffee and lots of sugar since I have so many exams..
Now I'm still awake, waiting for the entire effect to wear off and crash in bed..lol..
My 2 best friends since the first day I stepped foot in AR, Stefan and Diego said "Why even bother trying to get some sleep when you know you can't get any?"
Makes perfect sense huh?
that's my friends for you! haha
:p

A new old game

Last Saturday, I learned a new game--mahjong..yes, the old people game we watch on tv all the time. Ho, Johnny and I went to Albert's house for szechuan "ma la" MUTTON steamboat. We had so much mutton, veg and seafood..hehe, it was delicious! Albert's apartment is so clean and tidy, I mean for a guy's place, it's the first of so many I have seen. Anyways, after eating, Albert and Johnny decided to teach Ho and I mahjong. It's an ok game, not much of a strategy or mind game either..it's a game of pure statistics and luck..I hardly play games involving luck or having no strategy or whatsoever.

After playing, one thing I still don't get is how does all the "tai tai" in those dramas can play that game and look like they were having so much fun??? What's so exciting and adreneline pumping about this game???? *sigh* maybe I just don't get it..anyway, I still learnt a new game and had great food and company this weekend.. =)

Blood Red Waterfall@ Antarctic Glacier

The amazing work of God...looks like blood coming down from the waterfall.. O.o

There is a five-story, blood-red waterfall pouring slowly from the Taylor Glacier in Antarctica's McMurdo Dry Valley. Its back story, at Atlas Obscura, is simply remarkable:
Roughly 2 million years ago, the Taylor Glacier sealed beneath it a small body of water which contained an ancient community of microbes. Trapped below a thick layer of ice, they have remained there ever since, isolated inside a natural time capsule. Evolving independently of the rest of the living world, these microbes exist without heat, light, or oxygen, and are essentially the definition of "primordial ooze." The trapped lake has very high salinity and is rich in iron, which gives the waterfall its red color. A fissure in the glacier allows the subglacial lake to flow out, forming the falls without contaminating the ecosystem within.

One takeaway here is that life possible in extreme conditions. That said, in the absence of ideal conditions, life can evolve without begetting plants or birds or cuddly mammals or sentient beings who write blogs on the internet; it just begets a glob of ooze.
